Abstract
ABSTRACK Globalization has a significant impact on price increases in sectors tourism. Tourism sector price increases will raise the spirit of a country in introducing the tourism industry in the country. The purpose of this research is to develop models and various indicators of the development of the tourism sector on the cultural tourist destination of Yogyakarta. This study is the observation that occurs in a particular research object and at a certain time so it can be categorized as research imposible. This type of method used is the case study method ( case study ). The study design used is descriptive design research design that provides exposure to a phenomenon.Yogyakarta is a cultural tourist destination that has long persejarahan value. Yogyakarta and Surakarta is a favorite tourist destination after Bal . However, with various issues and events that occurred in the second row of the city led to the development of tourism to be slow, and need sufficient time to re- restore it . But there is no doubt that both cities have a level of competitiveness that if developed would e a promising tourism icon in the future. By adopting the factors forming the competitiveness of the WTTC noted that the level of prices, infrastructure, quality of the environment, technology, human resources, openness ( which includes international trade , visa policy , and openness to foreigners), social ( ie quality of life in tourist destinations ) , and human population participation in tourism or tourism industry, it can be noted how the destination's competitiveness against other similar destinations. The case study is a research study conducted with a detailed , in-depth, thorough and above a certain object lingkungannnya (Umar, 2002). The study design used is descriptive design research design that provides exposure to a phenomenon with descri ¬ Barkan things become a research topic (Kuncoro, 2003). The results showed that the feasible Yogyakarta as a tourism destination with over 80 % of respondents perceived good to excellent states. And the existence of a significant increase in the per capita income and government revenue. KotaYogyakarta image is a factor of competitiveness with the highest score of 586. Aggregate competitiveness index value obtained from the perception of the respondents indicated value at 0.72 with the highest index value of 1 . With the perception of good, it is advisable to always keep all of the factors that support tourism in Yogyakarta. Never be complacent because the future will be increasingly severe competition. For local government should improve in terms of rules, infrastructure owned by Yogyakarta because only 58 % said good . So it does not rule out the possibility that the value of getting down if not improved infrastructure seta always maintain the authenticity of the culture such as hospitality , culinary authenticity as well as a variety of factors supporting Keywords : Competitiveness , Cultural Tourism Destination
