Abstract
ABSTRACT For every country, tourism is one of the most important thing to develop their country and economic matters. Indonesia has 3 kinds of tourist attraction, which are natural tourism, man-made tourism, and special interest tourism. One of the most favourable special interest tourism for many people in Jakarta is shopping tourism. Jakarta has 173 of shopping malls which will keep growing. The aim of this research is to know the background of the visitors’ shopping motivation to Gandaria City Mall, by probability sampling technique. Quantitative descriptive method is the method that is used for this research, to know the visitors’ shopping motivation, and the data will be collected by observing and spreading 100 questionnaires to visitors of Gandaria City Mall randomly. And the result is value shopping motivation gets the highest average value of 4,16. The average value of 3,85 is the final score of this research, which shows that motivation of visitors’ to shop at Gandaria City Mall is high.
