Abstract

Hotel businesses are different from other businesses. The hotel business is open 24 hours and employees work in a shift system. Targeted service to guests is demanded of quality. This condition creates pressure for employees ranging from line managers to general managers. Work pressure that continues without realizing it causes the emergence of negative attitudes shown by superiors towards staff below them. There are many complaints from employees that superiors often act to offend subordinates. On the other hand, employees often do not last long working in certain hotels. The research objective was to analize the effect of the supervisor's unpleasant attitude towards subordinates (abusive supervision) on the turnover intention of employees of the Harris Hotel & Convention Ciumbuleuit in Bandung. The research method used a quantitative descriptive approach. Respondents were 266 employees of the Harris Hotel & Convention Ciumbuleuit in Bandung. Selection of respondents by convenience sampling. Data analysis used validity test, reliability test, descriptive - (frequency and mean), correlation test, t test, determination test, and simple linear regression test. The results showed that abusive supervision caused employees to intend to resign at the Harris Hotel & Convention Ciumbuleuit in Bandung.
