Abstract
This qualitative case study aimed to obtain information about the traditional food served in homestays and describe the views and efforts of the community and homestay owners regarding providing traditional food as local wisdom. The case study design was chosen as a suitable research strategy to explore local knowledge about traditional Food in Borobudur Village, Magelang, Indonesia. Data collection used observation, in-depth interviews, document analysis, and focus group discussion (FGD). The authors organized semi-structured interviews as the main data for a case study in qualitative research. The interviews were conducted with fifth Pokdarwis members to explore their understanding of traditional food as crucial informants during the FGD. Our findings revealed that homestay owners provide food with three aspects of becoming food that is preserved as local wisdom. These three aspects are (1) producing food, (2) processing raw materials by cooking, and (3) food, not against religion and the local community.
